Default Abaddon is an angel

In Cathoic beliefs, Abaddon is the name of one of the Seraphim, th highest order of angels. The name, from Hebrew, mean Destruction, or Lord of Destruction. Now, this all lends itself to the god's protrayal in the game, and I thought I'd jut share it with you. I got all my info from wikipedia, and here are the links if you want to check it out for yourself. BTW, I was hopping when I found it.

Wow, writers used another literary reference in writing their own story. Shocking.

Wow, people who point things out, interesting or not, must be lampooning an organisation for drawing inspriation from something. Well Dzan, you really shot yourself in the foot. Where in my post did I lambast Anet for such a thing? i was merely pointing out that they did draw inspritation for somewhere, and quite fitting it was, as Abaddon was one of the third of the angels who had fallen along with Lucifer. I thought it would be interesting to know and maybe hint at a further back story that may be revealed in later chapters. If you feel the need to insult me, because that what you have done, then at least drop the thin viel of sarcasm which you hide behind. After all, it is the lowest form of wit.

RE: Abaddon
Actually, in Revelations, Abbadon is an angel of the abyss -- a demon. In Hebrew mythology, many of the demons are fallen angels anyways...

RE: Balthazar
Actually, the more common interpretation for Balthazar is one of the three wise men who brought the infant Jesus gifts.

Personally, I dislike this facet of RPGs -- where devs use any which naming convention that pleases them. The Tolkien system of figuring out the roots of words and making the names consistent is so much more elegant. But I digress...

Speaking of Lyssa, her twin nature as one person thing is sort of a parellel to the Catholic Trinity if you think about it.

There are references to things all over the place. Be it religious, cultural (pop or historical), or literary.
